1. it leads to mass destruction
2. it also leads to mass displacement
3. it disturbs the aquatic life
4. it also leads to change in the course of river which creates many problems for the people living in the nearby areas
5. also many a times tress are left in the reservoirs which when decomposes produced carbon mono oxide.............
Hope it helps.☺️

This is because -
1.They need very high cost to be built.
2.A large area of land is required.
The surrounding vegetation (flora and fauna)
submerges under the water.
3. Damming of rivers causes
sedementation of riverbed with rocks.
It also affects aquatic animals.
For ex. It disturbs the natural breeding of fishes.
4. The people under the project have to give up their livestock and land.In return they are not mostly helped by the government.
5. Dams, specially the larger ones, have failed to stop flood. In turn they are leading to flooding themselves by disturbing the flow of rivers.
(Extra point- Huge dams have found to induce earthquakes.)

Ttapodeepa: thanks a lottttttttt.........
