Nylon is used for making ropes because its is tough , strong and can hold heavy weight .

Nylon ropes are usually strong enough. Even it is rough thus having friction and friction in between our palms fixes with that and we get a better grip for climbing. Thus nylon ropes are used as climbing ropes and even for other purposes.
