plants do not need digestive system.

here is why.

✯ plants do not need a digestive system as the food and minerals they take in from soil are certainly simple.
✯ these do not require further break down.
✯ these simple compounds can be easily transported to different parts of plants through vascular bundles. { xylem for water and phloem for sucrose, hormones etc.}

animals need digestive system.

here is why.

✯ the food that animals take in is certainly not simple but complex and it needs various enzymes to act on it to give its maximum benefit to particular organism.
✯ the food needs to be transported to different parts of body in different forms in order to be absorbed into the body.
✯ each organ in animals has different function for example small intestine for absorption of different minerals and large intestine to absorb water.
