why do only girls get periods??

Here's the answer you are looking for

Females have ovum that is female gamete present in side the uterus. The uterus every month prepares itself to implant the fertilised ovum as placenta. It prepares itself by lining the uterus with blood.

But when the ovum is not fertilised, the blood lining is no longer required and hence it needs to be shed off. This shedding of blood along with the unfertilized egg is known as menstruation.

This thing only happens to girls cause only girls have uterus and ovum.
