why do people after a hot sunny day Sprinkle water on roof of the open ground

it is because the sprinkle water get evaporated thereby making the surrounding cooler

The people do so to make the roof cold. Because after the hot sunny day the roof are too hot so when we sprinkle water than the water absorb the heat from the roof and get evaporated and as we know evaporation cause cooling so the roof will become cool
