why do pigs toil in mud during summer

pigs toil in the mud because the moisture in the mud helps them cool their body.

In summer, the climate is too hot. But, the mud will be in moisture, and cool to an extent. We all try to cool our body during the summers. Pigs do the same, by just toiling in the mud.
