During summer the land becomes more hot as a result more water rises up due to evaporation. As there is no rain the water lost in evaporation is not replaced. So the pond dries.

Answer:

Because the heat from the sun increases the kinetic energy of more number of molecules facilating them to go into the vapour state as a result the rate of evaporation increases
