why do seed need wet soil to grow?

As seeds take in water , the  seed coat swells and expands permitting both their enzymes and food source to become hydrated . This allows the seeds  to produce energy for growth . Since the seedlings won't survive without water and sunlight , it needs to time its emergence perfectly . Seeds need water and heat .
