Answer:

Soap solution is a hypertonic solution i.e., more concentrate than our skin cells. ... During washing of clothes, exosmosis takes place in the skin cells. This leads to shrinkage of skin over the fingers while washing clothes for a long time.

Answer:

  • We know that our skin is porous.
  • When we wash clothes, our hands behave as hypertonic and the water outside acts as hypotonic.
  • As water flows from higher concentration to lower concentration, Hence water flows out of our skin to the wash tub.
  • As a result our skin shrinks.
