why do solids compress in fluids??​

It depends buddy. Like which solid is it, solid sol, aerosol, or pure solids like metals. The mixture of solids into various liquids and gases are compressible, while the metals are compressible to some extent, not much.

So to conclude we can say metals can be compressed, by physical means
