when a country has vast expansion in in both east and west then they are often divided into multiple tome zone,

The difference between two times zones is only "15 degrees of longitude", i.e. each individual time zone is "15 degrees longitude wide". Some of the countries are so big, i.e. they cover a land area, so large, that more than one set of 15 degrees of longitudes intersect the country, thus resulting in two or three or more time zones in that country. This is why some countries have more than one time zones.
