Why do some historians call the modern period in India as the colonial period in very short answer?​

Answer:

It is because, under British rule people did not have equality, freedom or liberty. Nor was the period one of economic growth and progress.

Some Historians call the modern period in India as the colonial period because during this period, Britishers had started making their colonies . Ex- White town of Bengal has only Britisher families.
