Why do some natural resources have to be processed?

Natural resources are resources that exist without any sort of human intervention in their occurrence. Their raw forms are processed eventually to add value as they cannot be used as such. And even if we try to use them in their raw form, then we might be unable to extract and obtain the actual output from them. Ultimately, it will lead to loss and wastage and being non-renewable, they need to be preserved for future generations. Crude oil gets processed to obtain petrol,diesel, kerosene which is useful in different ways.

It is so because they cannot be used raw. If we use them in their raw form it can even harm us or it can be wasted
