Why do some people have difficulty in writing a letter

Well, the main thing in a letter is it's format. Some people have a mindset that just writing some stuff about the given topic is perfect but the expressions used matter a lot along with the format. It doesn't matter how much you write but if your letter doesnot have a formal sense in it then the examiner may not score you well.
