Hey there!
We know that stars are very far from our planet i.e Earth itd distance from our earth is in order of light years...
-> Between our planet and stars there is space which is filled with various gaseous having diffrent densities..
Now when light coming from stars to earth light have to suffer various gases of different densities.
When light from denser gas comes to rarer gas it gets refraction ... And due to refraction stars appears like twinkling.
