why do stars seem to be stationary

The stars rotate and also revolve around the center of the galaxy in which they are located. Further, the galaxies(except those in the local group) are moving away from one another due to the expansion of the space between them. But due to their vast distances from us, the stars appear to be stationary. Remember how distant objects appear to move slowly compared to nearer objects when travelling in a vehicle

Explanation:
Stars are much farther away than any distance you can move on the Earth and so your
frame of reference is not changing. Therefore stars appears to be at rest from earth, even
though they are moving very fast.
