Why do stars twinkle and other planets not ?

because planets don't have their own light so their light do not reaches our eyes but stars have their own light so when the light from the stars reaches our eyes from the space through the various layers of the atmosphere it keeps changing angle so then we see that it is twinkling.... hope this helps you dear..

Stars twinkle due to atmospheric refraction
Planets are much closer to earth and seen as extended source of light therfore the total amount of light entering our eyes from all individual point source of will nullify twinkling effect.
