why do stars twinkle but not the planets

Stars have their own light but planets don't.
This light passes through different layers of the atmosphere. Slightest movement in any of the layers causes the light to refract.
This is way they appear to twinkle.
Since planets don't have their own light their is no chance of them to appear twinkling.

Stars don't twinkle you may visit your book of class 10 physics , Light chapter , or you can just learn the fact that stars don't twinkle , its light undergoing refraction i.e. coming from different angle .
