Incombustible substances only vaporize in excess heat without giving a flame. Whereas, combustible substances produce flame and glow . In the process of combustion , a substance reacts with oxygen to produce flame and heat.

when substances burn with flame then it is considered as combustion ,this occurs as a result of the said object coming in contact with a flame or a object that causes combustion for ex hydrochloride

however when a substance burns without a flame that means it burns as a result of internal combustion
