Ans: in frogs, metamorphosis is controlled by thyroxine produced by the thyroid gland, iodine is required for the proper production of thyroxine. This is why tadpoles that grow in water that id deficient in iodine fail to develop into adult frog.

ans- in frogs, the hormone" thyroxine" produced by the thyroid gland of the frog to carry out the process of metamorphosis iodine is needed for the production of thyroxine ;it is made available by the water in which the tadpoles are living hence,if iodine is not present the tadpoles unable to grow into adult frog
