why do the electrostatic field lines not form closed loop

Electric field lines can not be zero. this result follows from the fact that the work done around the closed loop is zero. this cannot be true if we able to move the charge in closed electric field line.

Electric field lines start from positive charge and end at infinity. Therefore, these lines do not form close loop.
