Thomas Hobbes was:
an English philosopher. His vision of the world is relevant to contemporary
politics. He sought a social and political order where human beings could live
together in peace and avert the danger and fear of civil conflict.
He believed that:
the power in commonwealth should not be divided. Division of the sovereign power
is plainly contrary to the essence of a commonwealth. Divided powers tend to
destroy each other so the division of the power of a commonwealth will result in the dissolution
of the commonwealth.
