River flows along down slopes of the land. The rivers of South India (peninsular rivers) have been originated from the Eastern side of Western Ghat of Deccan plateau. Deccan plateau is sloped towards the East. So the rivers of South India are flowing to the East and have joined to the Bay of Bengal.
