The solids have a definite shape because the molecules of solid substances are very closely tight to each other so they can hold any definite shape.

actually any metal that is a solid have a definite shape and a definite volume the molecules in a solid are in fixed pollutions and are close together although the molecules can still vibrate they cannot move from one part of the solid to another part as a result a solid not easily change its shape or its volume....
