why do tools mean for cutting always have sharp edges

Sharp tools have small cross of intersection.

So they penitrate easily inside the thing to be cut.
So sharp edges is neccesary for cutting.

sharp edge tools have small cross sectional area . so the pressure increase.
as pressure is inversely proportional to area.
