During summer optimum temperature and availability of light triggers the plants to synthesize more food by the process of photosynthesis, food prepared is used for growing and storing. If the plants have more leaves more food can be prepared, so insummer plants acquire more leaves to produce more food.

Trees acquire more leaves during summer so as to:

1 make best use of plentiful sunlight avaible for photosynthesis and produce as much food as possible,

2. enhance evaporation rate so as to keep plant temperature regulated,

3. prevent harmful rays to enter the plant canopy,

4. enhance respiration rate to meet the needs of above challenges.
