why do trees on hills have cones instead of flowers

so that they can withstand frequent showers,snowfall,hail and sleet which is common on mountainous region

Tree on hill have cone so that the snow fall on them , the reproductive structure cant be damaged. Cones are woody  and thus protect the reproductive structure of tree . They do not get dameged by the falling snow .
