The tropical evergreen forests have high density of trees. The high density of trees mire or less when related to shortness in height means that accommodation would be even denser and sunlight reaching the trees wouldn't have been sufficient. Furthermore the growth in these trees having been enormously at high rate is the also the cause of heavy rainfall they get throughout the year round. Therefore they also appear green throughout the year. As for the height, the two factors mentioned above play an important role. It may be theorized that the trees have adopted themselves to grow taller as well.
