Why do we apply acetic acid in the string of wasp?

If the sting of wasp is basic, we can treat it by applying vinegar ( acetic acid - acidic ) to neutralise its effect.

Acetic acid is a weak acid and wasp's sting is a weak base so it will neutralise the reaction.
