When iron is exposed to air and water then it reacts terribly and ends up with rusting of iron.

However, iron articles are painted off so that iron won’t be able to react with the air and water.

It is a way to prevent the reaction that will simultaneously stop the rusting of iron.

We apply paint on iron articles to prevent from corrosion.

Explanation:

  • When Iron article comes in the contact of moisture present in the atmosphere it gets rusted.
  • Therefore, paint is applied on the surface of iron to prevent it from rusting.
  • We apply paint on iron articles In order to prevent the rusting of iron.
  • With the application of paint the layer of iron can not come in contact with the environment thus it cannot  react with oxygen to form iron oxide.
  • Rust is an iron oxide, or oxidation of iron usually it is red oxide which is formed by the redox reaction of iron and oxygen in the presence of water or air moisture.
  • Paint prevents iron from getting in contact with air and moisture.
