Why do we breathe through nose and not through mouth

Hey there,

Nose is lined ciliated cells on the outer layer and contains mucus. This helps in purification and filtration of air we inhale.

Their are no such specialized cells in mouth for filtration, so it do not ensure clean inhalation.
