Diwali is a festival that is celebrated for the reason because many years ago in the same day lord Rama came back to Ayodhya after defeating Ravana.This is a festival that indicates the win of truth against lie, win of happiness against sadness, win of Brotherhood against enemity.In this day lights are lighted all through the house to celebrate diwali or Deepavali.All the people clean their homes and shops during Diwali and light them with colourful lights also earthen lamps are lighted.Both the homes and shops are cleaned before Diwali because in the night of Diwali Goddess Lakshmi is worshipped. Goddess Lakshmi is the god of luck, happiness, money and wealth.This day all the people pray to goddess for wealth and happiness of their family. And as Lakshmi Puja is a sacred work it can be only performed after cleaning and lighting the house and shop properly.
