Hiccups usually occur because something has irritated your diaphragm - the muscle in the chest that helps control breathing. Triggers include eating too much, drinking carbonated beverages, and experiencing sudden excitement. The irritation leads to a muscle spasm, which causes you to suck in air quickly.

There are many types of hiccups associated with hiccups in India, as if you are getting hiccups, then someone will be missing. Think of who is missing. Thinking of the right name will stop hiccups. Similarly, if anybody is going to hiccup, then a well-wisher will say a shocking thing with the same person, due to the belief that doing so suddenly will stop the hiccups.
It is not right to know how accurate it is, but yes, it is fine as a conventional method of searching for the attention of the victim. But it is good to understand that the science behind the hiccups can be understood a little bit and then make suitable measures.
Every day we breathe and fly in the lungs and keep coming from there. Along with this, the curtain also moves which is between chest and stomach. But sometimes the rhythm of this flow gets disturbed, hence the diaphrag flows and the hiccup moves.
There are several ways to ease the flow of air by controlling this blight. Like drinking cold water, ingestion of sweat, stop breathing for a few seconds, swallow ice, swallow a bag, etc.
Any one of these methods gets comfort in hiccups. Swallowing food quickly, eating more chillies, drinking alcohol etc. can come hiccup. But if it is not stopped by any normal solution then it is okay to have a doctor's opinion.
