Why do we dont feel gravity in space but moon does?

In space we don't feel gravity because it is open and there is no particular centre of mass. But in moon there is a particular centre of mass so we can feel gravity and surface area is also responsible for the gravity, if there is large surface area of any planet or object in space ,it has more gravity.
