As you know that while cooking vegetables are cut to provide increased surface area for absorption...
Just like that when we chew our food
First it helps to grind it into small pieces so that it's easily swallowed and digested and so that enzymes can work properly
Second to mix the saliva as it will be easier to swallow it afterwards .
