as Abraham Lincoln said democracy is a form of government "for the people, of the people and by the people". it gives the people their complete freedom to choice a person who leads them, guides them and helps them. in democracy ministers are not the rulers but people are the rulers.
while other forms of the government like monarchy or dictatorship people are not given the choice to choose their representative . this main freedom to choose is taken away.
even in many cases in a government like dictatorship people are often not given any freedom as the whole power resists with a single person.
