why do we get a choking sensation while we eat in a hurry or laugh while eating

This happens as we have a flap opening in our windpipe called epiglottis. It opens whenever we need air and closes when we eat food. So while eating in a hurry, epiglottis opens for allowing air in but accidentally food enters the foodpipe.
