Well glucose is the main substrate on which most of our cellular energy ie ATP is derived from in normal state. The process is called glycolysis. When we starve, we do not have sufficient glucose circulating in our body. Our liver uses stored glycogen(glycogenolysis) and fat substrates forming ketone bodies to generate energy. Some structures like red blood cells and brain need glucose only to act. So when we take Glucose, it gives instant energy as it is preferred substrate.

Answer:

We get instant energy because glucose is the simplest form of sugars They are digested even faster as they don't have to broken down to form simpler substances. They can be assimilated i.e. the process of absorption of nutrients from food; easily.

Hope it helps
