why do we get VIBGYOR colours​

VIBGYOR basically are the seven colors namely - Violet, Indigo, Blue, Green, Yellow, Orange and Red which we get on splitting of white light (sunlight) or any other composite light having a band of three to four colors . The process by which this phenomena happens in called dispersion of light i.e scattering of light.
