Why do we have a running nose when we cry???

Human bodies react to crying as if they are foreign substance or germs. When we cry, tear glands present under eyelids secrete tears and drain through the tear ducts. These ducts empty then into the nose and tears finally mix with mucus there and we get a running nose.
