Why do we have to warm up and cool-down before and after physical fitness activities

if we dont do warmup, our body i.e. bones are not ready for doing anything. for example if you run suddenly very fast, you will get tired immediately and you may get sprain or pain in your legs and you will start breathing very fast. your heart also beats very fast. so to avoid pains and sprains we do warmup.
