in a furnished room it is usually filled with objects that tend to absorb sound so as sound waves travel in all directions from the source much of it is absorbed and only the waves in the direction of the listener reach his/her ear.
in case of an empty room sound waves suffer reverberations from walls due to no absorption hence there will be overlapping if sound waves. making it not clear

Because there is no more and more voice after putting curtains so we can able to hear properly and clearly in a furnished room then in a empty room
