Hi friend,

First of all we need to know that-
1)What are rights?
1)RIGHTS in democracy are called
FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS.Fundamental rights are the granted to the citizens of a country so they can live their life comfortably and with justice. We Indians are provided with these rights and if a person tries to violate it he/she is punished. The fundamental rights given to the Indians are noted in the Constitution and they are-
•RIGHT TO EDUCATION.
•RIGHT TO CONSTITUTIONAL REMEDIES
•RIGHT TO SPEECH
•RIGHT TO EXPLOITATION
•RIGHT TO EQUALITY
•RIGHT TO CHOOSE ANY RELIGION.
DEMOCRATIC RIGHTS are that rights reasonable claims of persons which are recognized by society and sanctioned by law. This means that an unreasonable claim of a person cannot become a right.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
2)What is the need of rights in democracy?
2)We got to know that rights are very important for us but how.Let's know-:
•For the existence of democracy.
•Rights protect the justice of the people and his/her majority and minority.
•So that every citizen can participate in democratic functions and processes like to vote.
•So that a person may feel safe and independent.
•So a person can approach court if anything goes wrong.
•It also ensures that everyone is getting equal rights and no discrimination is taking place against caste, religion, sex, colour.

For democratic elections, it is necessary that citizens should have the right to express their opinions, form political parties and take part in political activities. Rights protect minorities from the oppression of majority. ... So, some rights need to be placed higher than the government so that it cannot violate them.
