Most of our energy use comes from fossil fuels like petroleum and coal that provide electricity and gas to power our growing energy needs. These resources aare nonrenewable which means that we will eventually run out.conserving energy not only helps to conserve resources but also translates into financial savings.

Energy is required for all activities. It is needed  to cook, to provide light and heat, to propel  vehicles and to drive machinery in industries.

Energy resources such as coal and petroleum  need to be conserved because :

(i) They take millions of years to form.

(ii) The rate of their consumption is higher than the  rate of their production.

(iii) They contribute in air pollution.

(iv) We need to save them for our future generation
