as per constitutional provisions during independence, the union territories was not a part of India are too small to make into state further state recognisation organisation commission in 1956recommended generating a different category for these territories named union territories

the union territories was not a part of India during the 17th and 18th centuries but as of now it is more easier to distinguish the states if we separate them as union territories...
