why do we plant seeds in the soil even though they do not require it to germinate

, although they don't actually need soil to germinate, but after germination they are going to grow, right. Plants need something that should not only hold nutrients, but also in which it's root could easily plunge through to hold & support itself. So we can't just leave them like anything after germination. We can't plant a tree in a rock or in concrete. So soil is the most suitable thing over here. That's why seeds are being sown in soil since they are going to require it after germination. There is a process called Hydroponics in which instead of soil, suitable nutrient medium is maintained.

If we don't plant seeds in soil...The seeds may fly off due to wind pressure (air).

After germinated the roots will come out from seeds they need to be hold deep inside the soil only .

The soil contains many nutrients in it.
