Why do we put salt on sidewalks when it snows? Who answers correctly gets brainlist no spam please.​

Salt mixes with the snow to form a mixture known as freezing mixture. This lowers the freezing point of water. This prevents the formation of ice on the sidewalk, allowing pedestrians to safely walk on it without slipping.
