It is recommended to rub iron object on a bee sting which helps in removing the sting from our flesh. Iron is not basic but iron oxide is, which help in neutralising the acid after a bee sting. Soap or sodium bicarbonate can also be helpful in neutralising the acid and relief pain.

QUESTION:-

Why do we rub metal on any sting?

ANSWER:-

  • Rubbing iron metal objects on stings like bees sting is an advised process. Bees when attacking the flesh of humans they leave their sting. If the sting is left inside the flesh it leads to diseases and the formation of pus.

  • Rubbing iron metal at the affected sites is a method by which the bee sting comes out because iron is not basic but iron oxide is a basic salt which helps to neutralise the acid by the sting of the bee. The acid of a bee sting can also be neutralised by using foam or sodium bicarbonate to relieve pain.

  • The stings can also be drawn out by rubbing lemon on the sting or by other material that is soft and does not irritate the skin.
