why do we say that a lift delivers more power in taking a man up than that delivered by the man clinging stairs through the same height?

because im stairs forced along gravity is less... mean along height work done is less

Because if the man climbs stairs he goes in a slant way and when the lift delivers him the lift has to pull the man in a straight direction. So we say that a lift delivers more power in taking a man up.
