We say that non-infectious diseases are caused by internal reasons due to the following factors:-

• The non-infectious diseases, also termed as non-communicable diseases, are not caused due to pathogens.
• They arise from genetic, environmental, or lifestyle factors that fall into the category of internal reasons. For example, diabetes, cancer, hypertension etc  
• On the other hand, infectious diseases like the common cold, flu, etc transmit from one person to another by various agents.
